Tie Me Ups Loc Ties...

Just some pictures of me modeling the tie me ups.  I like them. The Tie Me Ups were actually bigger than I thought. By that I mean the pendant itself. As of now, I have no complaints on my end about this product. If you would like to see another review that I did on this product please click on THIS LINK. SN: The bangs were the results/after effects of the loc loops I used the night before.

Lock Etiquette

Lock Etiquette
10 Basic rules everyone should go by to be on the safe side of not offending someone.....

Do not refer to locks as "those things in your hair" or "braids"

Do not touch a persons locks unless you have permission to do so.

Do not ask if they wash them....of course they do.

Do not say, "That looks good on you but I could never....."

Do not ask, "When are you going to wear you real hair?"

Do not assume that the lock wearer smokes marijuana.

Do not assume that the lock wearer ascribes to a particular religion or lifestyle.

Do learn more about locks of the lock wearer by asking open-ended questions.

Do your own research about locking before making comments + or -

Do respect "all kinds of locks" by honoring those who wear them, i.e treat people the way you would like to be treated.

IDEAL LOCS LENGTH?

QUICK QUESTION.lol... How long would you let your lovely locs grow? For me, past my shoulders. armpit length at the very max and that would be stretching it for me. It sounds fun to say I have super long hair. But for me the longer my hair was the thicker it got and on top of that it took longer to do my hair. That's why I got locs. But that is just for me. I am not really obsessed with long hair don't care anymore. Just locs that are healthy and blow in the wind. lol.

u got ALLLL THAT from my locs???

I was chatting with someone today at the store and they asked me about my hair. I told them that I had sisterlocks. This person then proceeded to say,“Oh you have locs so you must have an intellectual enlightenment and discourse, and are 'culturally aware' because of your locs. You got all that from a hairstyle. Lol. I didnt know locs made statements like that. lol.I am culturally aware and college educated, I do enjoy neosoul music, and I am somewhat afro centric but I digress. Assumptions of one's intellectual or cultural awareness should never be made based on one's physical appearance...I think all of us, wheather our hair is loc'd, natural hair, or relaxed are on the same path, just different points...Has anyone ever made an assumption about you based off your hair?

basketweave, flexi rods, and SL

Ok So it has been 19 days since I got my sisterlocks(tm) installed.. So far so good. No slippage. I am excited about that. My scalp is super dry and itchy these past days. But I have been holding true to not putting anything in there but the sisterlocks(tm) shampoo. Tomorrow I go in for a photo shoot that my consultant is having with her clients for her website. I will be in the sisterlocks(tm) sections with her other sisterlocks(tm) clients. She will also showcase children and other clients with locs and natural hair. When her website launches I will let you guys know. Below is the pictures of the hairstyle that we did. What a blessing to have a consultant that is a licensed cosmologist and specialized in sisterlocks(tm).  Thanks for viewing until next time everyone!

updo take down/sisterlocks update

It has been 18 days since I got my sisterlocks installed. I am not doing a lot of talking in this video. I am still in love with my sisterlocks(tm)! I go in tomorrow for a wash and style. On Sunday I will be taking pictures with other sisterlocks women for my consultant to showcase on her website that she will be launching soon! I am just happy to be thought of. Remember how I was saying I am lucky because my hair isn't all that itchy, will that comment bit me in the butt. My hair has been itching like crazy. I haven't put anything in my hair though. I am trying to follow the rules. Also my consultant is currently a trainee, she turned her information this past week to the sisterlocks headquarters, she also included pictures of my install in her package. Pray that she gets approved to be a certified consultant. I currently have 42 new subscribers on YouTube and 16 followers on my blog!!! Thank you everyone for following my journey with me. Until next time!

My sisterlocks pattern is...

I found out what my sisterlocks pattern was the day of my install and it is a "3 pattern". Finding out my sisterlocks pattern is a "3 pattern" was interesting since the common pattern that I have found on the web is "4 pattern" or "reverse 4 pattern". When I had my testers locks installed over a month ago, my hair took all the patterns which shocked my consultant because appartently everyone has at least one lock that unravels and I had none. I was braiding, twisting, spraying, bandtu knoting, and washing those testers.lol. I read on the web that a "3 pattern" is for fuller locks. I dont think my hair can get any fuller no matter what pattern I use. Or can it? I also read that its for thin hair, but I do not have have thin hair. But I did read that a "3 pattern" is quicker to do when you are doing a retighten.

Sisterlocks
3 Pattern Bullet Points
  • Fuller Volume Locks
  • Used for fine hair
  • Commonly used for medium to long curl pattern
 Pattern 4
  • Used for tightly curled hair.
  • The most common locking patterns:
pattern 4 reversed
  • The least common locking pattern.
  • Used for excessive slippage
Even though I do not forsee myself ever being a DIYer it is always good to know just in case my consultant has an emergency and cannot do my hair. I was wondering for the ladies and gentlemen that are subscribe to my blog what are your interlocking pattern?

2 weeks w. my SL/ 6th day updo

my updo after 6 days
I have had my sisterlocks for 2 weeks now. So far so good. There are parts of my head that are itchy but nothing serious. Also my updo is still holding up. It is the 6th day with the updo and it looks great. It's funny bc a lady came up to me and said you just gonna get a new hairstyle every other week aren't you? Your just trying to shut the sisterlocks game down."" Haha. I now have 13 new followers!!! Thank you guys so much for following my journey with me.
SN: My lock loops has arrived in the mail today!!! I will officially try them out probably in June or July. So about 5 or 6 months from now.

1st wash/3rd Hairstyle

Hey everyone. So today was my 1st wash since the 1st wash that I got my hair installed. I don't know if that makes sense. But that is the best way that I can explain it.lol. My hair was banded, washed with the sisterlocks shampoo, rolled up with rollers. I sat under the dryer. Then my hair was styled. Below I have posted pictures of it all. I had one little baby slip in the front.. But when my consultant was installing my hair she told me that that one might slip and it did.  But she fixed it and its like new. I am not really having an itchy scalp but a flaky scalp.. That shampoo is really drying my hair out. So I might look into rosewater. I hear a lot of sisterlocks beauties talk about it. But I am going to hold out on it... I might use it after my hair has been installed for at least a few months.. But we shall see. If you guys have any suggestions please feel free to tell me. What do you guys do to eliminate a flaky scalp?
