Hello everyone. It has been a while. Below I have posted a video of my hair update along with some pictures of my hair. I will celebrate my 19th month sisterlocks anniversary on august 23, 2013... I am still going in every 4 weeks. However because of my consultant schedule these past 2 months I have gone in at the 5th week. Which also brings me to another comment. My consultant told me that she does not want to do sisterlocks anymore. She wanted to just work at her job. (Which why I like going to ONLY Cosmetologist, that is there job and this would have not happened..) That is a bummer because I am a hair snob. I really don't like people or just anyone doing my hair. So I kindof gave her a side eye when she told me. It started off as I don't want to do sisterlocks anymore. So i asked her well are you just going to keep your current clients. And she goes yeah I will keep my current clients but I am not adding anymore or installing anymore new clients, and then later she says eventually in a few months I will begin to refer my current clients out. To then, by the end of the session she goes here is this woman's number, yada yada yada. But if she cannot fit you in then I will do your hair one more time, I am not just going to leave you high and dry. what?!? Actually you did. Ugh.... So I was little pissed about that.
For me its hard to find people who can do thick hair at a nice speed. Now granted, she was not as fast as Tanisha, and she did not style, and not as cheap, but she did charged me a set price. And my old hairstylist charged me the same price Tanisha did with the styles so I was never upset.Now I am on a search, and I am trying to find someone who is fast and can give me a set price...
Fast forward to a week a later, I finally met up with the woman that she referred me to to at the womans salon. I talked to her on the phone and she was telling me how much she charges her clients. And I had her a side eye, and everyone knows that look. its the look give a person when they said something I don't like. I let her know how I am a loyal customer, I BOOK all my appointments 6 months in advance. And I NEVER NEVER cancel and could she do a set price for me. I also told her that I wanted her to see my hair, because I have thick hair and she can tell me if she wants to work with me or not. I thought she was a cosmetologist, because that what my old consultant told me, but she is not. But she owns her own salon. I believe she has her braider license. You should have seen the look on my face bc I was going on and on about how I love cosmetologist and how fast my first consultant was. She got me in and out and she styled... yada yada yada. lol.But she told me she has been doing traditional and micro locks for years and went to the class in May has already installed 4 people. She also informed me that she had been doing sisterlocks for years, but not the true sisterlocks way because it was not with the tool. We worked out an agreement she would give me a set price and my session would include a wash and a style. Winning.
I go in on September 1, 2013 for my first time with this new consultant. After she does my hair, I will take a picture and release her name. I pray that she is speedy and I also pray that she is really creative with the styles. The good thing is her salon is located down the street from my hairstylist. Which I will still be going to because My stylist is cheaper than her. I am talking about $15 for a updo or curls. Special sjoutpout to all the talented and lovely ladies at Black Butterflies! But I always pay her 25. I am still trying to convince her to go the class because she is fast and already does locs. If she goes to class, she will have me forever!
Anyway enough talking, now its time to view. These pictures and video was taken and done on my last retightrn session with my now old consultant on August 4, 2013.
