After admiring/researching sisterlocks for 2 months, I decided it was the right choice for me. After 3 years of being a loose natural, I was ready to embark on a new journey. This blog is about my journey to becoming sisterlocked and hopefully it is helpful for individuals thinking about getting their hair locked but have been afraid to take the final step.(Plz do not use any of my pics w/o my consent. Thanks!)

Hair Challenge Update as of 4/18/2012
I have not updated on my challenge lately but, I have been pretty good with the challenge. I am not doing number #4 all. However, I am doing the rest. I have been drinking lots of water not my daily 8 like I should. But I have been getting in 5 or 6 a day. I am trying to increase that up to 8-10 glasses a day like I use do a few weeks ago. I work out twice a day 6 sometimes 7 days a week and each time it for at least 45 min. to 1 hour. I have not really been taking that biotin pill like I should. I will do better and start back up with that. I have been getting my hair washed by my consultant every 2 weeks with the SL shampoo. I am not doing a weekly scripture but a daily one. I have the bible downloaded on my phone so each day I have a scripture of the day that I read I try to apply it to my life. I just finished the gossip series in the bible. I am about to start reading another series: one is called 21 fast and each day it will ring as a reminder and I can read it and meditate on it throughout the day. It is a 3 week fast that is meant for reflection and clarity.

Mohawk with a twist

bandtu knot outs.. i loveeee this hairstyle |
The title pretty much says it all. I call this look a mohawk with a twist.. A month and a half ago my consult did a mohawk on my hair. She liked it so much she wanted to do it again. I asked her could we try bandtu knots in the middle this time and see how it turns out.. We both said if it doesn't turn out right she can do something else. Well it came out great... She only used water to achieve this look.. She washed my hair with the sisterlock shampoo. I sat on the dryer. She then braided the sides of my hair and did the bandtu knots in the middle. Typically I leave afterwards and take them out. But I just asked her can she take them out. So what she did next was let me sit under the dryer to make sure my hair was completely dry. I love it!!!!! My consultant is the absolute BEST!!!

curly nikki
These pictures are photos that I rocked today.... I used Loc loops to acieve this look. I lightly misted my hair with distilled water and left the loc loops in my hair for 4.5 hours.. Most people say leave them in over night or for at least 8 hours..I Also the loc loops have two different hatches you can loop it through.. I chose the 1st latch because when I tested out the loc loops a month ago, the second latcg made my curls too tight, I wanted a looser curl this go around. I had to go to a business fuction so I did not have time to leave it in longer than 4.5 hours. My hair was completely dry however when I took the loc loops out however. My hair was super soft and I got tons of compliments.. One lady thought I didnt have my locs anymore... She goes did you comb out your locs? I said no, I just curled them.. She had to shallow her comment. lol.. I like the way they came out. Hopefully they will last for 2 or 3 days.. Who knows.. The way I work out, (which is twice a day) I will be lucky to get a day out of these curls.. lol.
