Lock Etiquette
10 Basic rules everyone should go by to be on the safe side of not offending someone.....
Do not refer to locks as "those things in your hair" or "braids"
Do not touch a persons locks unless you have permission to do so.
Do not ask if they wash them....of course they do.
Do not say, "That looks good on you but I could never....."
Do not ask, "When are you going to wear you real hair?"
Do not assume that the lock wearer smokes marijuana.
Do not assume that the lock wearer ascribes to a particular religion or lifestyle.
Do learn more about locks of the lock wearer by asking open-ended questions.
Do your own research about locking before making comments + or -
Do respect "all kinds of locks" by honoring those who wear them, i.e treat people the way you would like to be treated.
